Small Green Steps

Our House Early Learning World is now becoming a sustainability centre. We are part of a small green steps program, the program has four levels for us to achieve and work through. We will post a lot of information in regards to being a sustainable centre.

Jump 4 Joy

Jump 4 Joy is here every Tuesday from 10am until 11.30am. Jump 4 joy is a program for children to enhance their natural abilities for skills for life. It builds confidence and enhances their gross motor development. Each week your children will learn through music and movement with a different theme each week.

Welcome Kirri

We would like to welcome Kirri to Our House. Kirri has worked in early education for two years and has a diploma in education and care. Kirri is a family person and has a son who attends the centre. Kirri will be joining the Our House team for five days a week and will cover the girl’s breaks throughout the day.

Staff News

Taylah has joined Our House this week as our new breaks staff member. Taylah has worked in the industry for 3 years in a variety of roles, including being a home nanny and working in before and after school care. Taylah has her Diploma in Children’s Services and will be a great asset to Our House.

PJ Day

On Friday the 17th of June, Our House had a bit of fun with the children and staff coming to work and care in our pyjamas. The kinder children enjoyed a cosy afternoon watching a movie and nibbling on popcorn together with Lisa and Marrie. Great fun was had by all and we cant wait for the next day to dress up and be silly.

Sustainability Program

We have joined ‘Little Green Steps’ sustainability program. This program has 4 levels of sustainability practises for our centre to work through and achieve. As each is achieved we will have a certificate sent out for us to display that we are a sustainable centre. Recycling and the environment and the effects on the ozone layer are important issues that children need to learn and understand. We would like to start graphing how much water we save each week. Also introducing earth hour as well.

Fresh Food

Not long now until we have fresh food cooking from the newly renovated Our House kitchen. The smells of wholesome fresh foods and a four weekly rotating menu catering for all, including children with allergies.

Kinder Information Night

On Wednesday the 29th of June we had our first Kinder Information Night at Our House. We were pleased with the amount of families that attended and we all enjoyed a cosy evening, while Aimee explained her program via a PowerPoint presentation. Our kinder room will now be dividing into two separate areas for the 3’s & 4’s . This way we can run two separate programs aimed at the developmental levels of the children. Staff News

On Monday the 30th of May, we will have Aimee start at Our House as our educational leader and kinder teacher for term 3. Aimee has had almost a decade of experience in the industry and has worked across all age groups. Kim will still be teaching in the kinder room until she leaves on maternity leave in July.
